Professional Bio
While not a Massachusetts native, Dr. Bourquin moved here right after Cornell Veterinary School and has never left. He was an associate veterinarian before opening Boston Veterinary Clinic in 2014 and also serves as a volunteer for many community organizations. He grew up a small town boy with a strong dairy heritage. While now if he were to touch a dairy cow it would be malpractice, he did retain many of the basic values of the farming world. If it is broke, do your best to fix it! He has lived by this motto and it has served him well. When LGBT vet students had to basically go back in the closet or fear retaliation once in clinics, he worked with administration to make the whole hospital more inclusive. He was fortunate to stumble on Dr. Andy Rourke’s Unchartered Veterinary Conference years later which reignited his desire to make change and soon was elected to the Not One More Vet (NOMV) Board, whose mission it to not just help the vet community survive, but thrive. He took on the role of President of NOMV in 2024. Just like we learned more about being a vet outside the classroom, all these organizations have taught him about the vet world and all the amazing resources and people power available to the profession.
